June 28, 2006 Mr. Phillip Brooks Dear Brother Brooks: Grace and peace to you in Christ Jesus. I am writing to warn you of the anti-Trinitarian, and hence anti-Christian doctrines being promoted by the United Church of God an International Association (UCG) through their World News & Prophecy program which airs over KLIC 1230AM. You can read the heretical nature of these teachings on the UCG website: www.ucg.org. I have sufficiently documented many of UCGs unorthodox teachings. I have enclosed documentation for your viewing. The UCG is one of many off-shoots of the Worldwide Church of God, a church founded in the 1930s by the late Herbert W. Armstrong. (www.livingcog.com/237offshoots.htm lists 237 groups that can trace their origins to the Worldwide Church of God). Herbert W. Armstrong based his doctrines on unique blends of what most Christians would agree are unorthodox beliefs. Although there are some details in UCG teachings that differ from the old Herbert Armstrong teachings of the Worldwide Church of God, just as there are differences between all of the Armstrongite groups, the UCG is still without question teaching Armstrongite doctrines. I have received and read the last two issues of the Good News (UCG magazine). It is very encouraging to see the same teachings that Christ restored to His church through Herbert W. Armstrong in your publications (United News. Vol. 4, No. 7 September 14, 1998). The UCG website and literature teach against and even vehemently assail, many of the foundational doctrines of Christianity. Among these are the Blessed Trinity stating it is false doctrine, blinds people to other wonderful truths of God, its not a biblical doctrine, the trinity doctrine has blinded so many people to the reality of what God is and what Gods plan is, saying its contrary to scripture, cannot be supported from the Bible, the Holy Spirit is not a person. One booklet you can read on the UCG website: www.ucg.org/bookletsIWG/christsresurrection.htm is Who is God? This booklet denies the Blessed Trinity, the Holy Spirit as the third person of the Trinity, the literal physical bodily resurrection of Christ. Many other Christian doctrines are also denied through their literature. I myself find these statements offensive and unchristian. Please find enclosed some documentation from the UCG literature
concerning the denials of the My concern is that by airing programs of organizations, when examined more closely are actually unorthodox, people are deceived. This deception is enhanced when programs to promote their ministry are placed among well-known evangelical ministers and ministries. There is a relationship of trust between Christians and Christian radio and television stations that the programs they air are produced by groups that at least meet the basic criteria of orthodoxy. Otherwise, we will son have more Armstrong groups, Jehovahs Witnesses, Mormons, and other counterfeit Christian organizations using Christian stations to draw unsuspecting listeners into their folds. In closing, having the UCGs program on KLIC 1230AM is equivalent to giving acceptance to a program by the Jehovahs Witnesses. My prayer is that you, Brother Brooks, will investigate what I have written and documented and remove World News & Prophecy from KLICs programming schedule before many others are misled. Very respectfully in Christ, James Kieferdorf |
