"Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly:
and indeed bear with me. For I am jealous over you with godly
jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may
present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. But I fear, lest by
any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty,
so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is
in Christ. For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom
we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which
ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted,
ye might well bear with him." Published on February 21, 2004 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Graven images are an abomination to God. Mel Gibson's movie is nothing but a two-hour stream of images graven in celluloid at the rate of 24 frames per second! He has made thousands of graven images and likenesses of God's Son engaged in a divine transaction and spiritual conflict, though Mel does not have a clue as to His appearance on earth 2000 years ago or His present appearance in heaven! What presumption! And he even thinks he knows what Satan looks like!
God said, "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth" (Ex 20:3). And again, "Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth" (Deut 5:8).
The second of the Ten Commandments condemns images or likenesses for religious purposes. Mel Gibson, a Catholic, does not know this is one of the Ten Commandments, for Rome long ago eliminated the second commandment to allow their art, images, relics, stained glass, and statues. Roman Catholics divide the tenth commandment and make it two in order to keep a total of ten!
The history of man is a satanic drive to create images of God matching their own liking (Is 44:9-20; Acts 17:29-31; Rom 1:19-23). If a picture is worth a thousand words, then Satan is trying to overwhelm the verbal understanding and objectivity of Scripture's words. For man's rebellion with images, God darkened his heart and turned him over to a reprobate mind (Rom 1:24-32).
God was careful not to allow Israel to see any visual impression of Himself, for He did not want them attempting graven images or likenesses of anything to assist their worship (Deut 4:15-26). The Lord Jesus Christ was the full Godhead in flesh (Col 2:9); and again, God was very careful to not leave any descriptions of His appearance in the flesh here on earth. We must not presume!
Faithful saints reject pictures of Jesus for the commandments above. Why would they consider a moving picture of Jesus, which is far more presumptuous of His person, manners, speech, and appearance? No man can portray Jesus Christ. The great God said, "To whom then will ye liken me?" (Is 40:25.) Jesus did not allow a record of His appearance to avoid the very thing Mel did.
Once these images are embedded in your brain, with the added enhancement of a moving soundtrack, you will have great difficulty removing them. Yet they are not Jesus Christ, nor even a close representation of Jesus Christ. The image of Jesus in your mind and heart will be the fictional imagination of a Hollywood director and actor, who both depend on images for their worship.
2. Mel's Jesus is another Jesus. There is another Jesus, another gospel, and another spirit in this world (II Cor 11:1-4,13-15). Don't ever forget this! Imitation Christs are the greatest threats the saints have ever faced (Matt 24:23-24). The devil is not a red fiend with a pitchfork and tail, asking men to go to hell with him; he appears as an angel of light in the name of Jesus and asks you to go to heaven with him. Mel is quite ignorant of the true Jesus, true gospel, and true Spirit of the Bible.
How can we make this accusation? Easily! The Jesus of God is known only by revelation of Holy Scripture (Is 8:20; John 5:39; Gal 1:8-9; Rev 12:17). Mel used a 75-book Bible interpreted by his Catholic catechism, studied the Shroud of Turin, added hallucinations from nun-mystics, and removed anything offensive to Catholics or Jews. Furthermore, Mel's movies for 20 years show he does not know the real Jesus of Nazareth, for that Christ condemns every movie he has made.
We do not believe Mr. Gibson is intentionally misleading anyone. We believe he is a sincere Roman Catholic blinded by the ignorance for which that church is famous. He is naturally very gifted at his craft, but the devil is using his ignorance of Biblical Christianity to create a manmade Jesus to turn many away from the blessed and only Potentate, Who reigns in heaven at this hour!
Jesus has not been in a manger or on a cross for about 2000 years, though men prefer Him in either place, thus the fixation on Nativity scenes and crucifixes. Jesus is King of kings and Lord of lords. He destroyed the Jews who crucified Him by Roman armies in 70 A.D., and He is coming back soon to destroy the world! He is coming with mighty angels in flaming fire to destroy every enemy of His without mercy (II Thess 1:7-10)!
The apostle John laid on Jesus' bosom at supper, was much loved by Jesus, was at the foot of the cross with His mother, and had known Jesus intimately for over 3 years. But when he saw Him glorified after His resurrection, He fell at his feet as dead (Rev 1:17)! Jesus was not an effeminate, longhaired guru on earth; and He is certainly not one now! But Mel's Jesus is just such a hippie!
The Jesus of God never compromised with sin or men, ever! He measured men by obedience to His commandments, not by sentimental slush in their hearts (Matt 7:21-23; John 14:15). He came to divide and separate men, which He did (Matt 10:34-36; Luke 2:34-35; John 7:43; 9:16; 10:19). He did not allow any compromise with the world whatsoever (Matt 6:24; 10:37-39). Mel should use five minutes showing Jesus scourging the conservative, religious moneymakers at the temple!
Why is Mel's Jesus so popular? Why is the religious world flocking after him? Why are religious leaders all praising the movie? The real Jesus was despised and hated, especially by religious leaders! Only a few believed on Him and chose to follow Him. Could it be because this caricature of Jesus is the religious world's satanic Jesus? Answering this question is not difficult!
Satan hates Jesus of Nazareth, for He is the male Seed of the woman promised in the Garden of Eden to destroy him (Gen 3:15). Satan tried to wipe out the holy line from Abel to the young children of Bethlehem. He attacked Jesus in the wilderness, and he attacked Him in Gethsemane. Why? Because Jesus, as a man, humiliated him on the cross (Col 2:15; Heb 2:14; I John 3:8)!
3. God does not allow human enhancements to the gospel. The blessed God chose to communicate the knowledge of Jesus Christ by the preaching of the gospel. If simple men preaching Jesus Christ in a simple manner does not move a man, then any conviction or emotion that man obtains from other means is purely a natural response to natural stimulus. He is not responding to God.
The God of heaven does not cater to men at all. When God took a market survey of both Jews and Greeks, He ignored their preferences for wisdom and signs and gave them offensive preaching of Jesus Christ instead (I Cor 1:20-24). Paul knew any "converts" from human embellishments or efforts would stand in the wisdom of men, rather than in the power of God (I Cor 2:1-5).
If the apostle Paul rejected enticing words of man's wisdom in presenting the gospel, why would a Christian attend a concentrated audio-visual bombardment of the senses with a bleeding-heart soundtrack attached (I Cor 2:1-5)? Any stirring of the human soul will merely be a Pavlovian response to the intense graphic images of suffering and violence and the melancholy music.
The gospel of Christ reveals hidden wisdom and mysteries to the regenerated elect only (I Cor 2:6-16). It was never intended for natural men, so it does not need natural enhancements. A born again child of God is convicted and moved by preaching (Acts 2:37), but those not born again cannot be moved by any form of persuasion (Acts 7:54; Is 26:10; Luke 16:27-31; John 3:3; I Cor 2:14).
Paul was made all things to all men that he might by all means save some (I Cor 9:22), but the salvation was only conversion, and the compromise was only in matters of liberty. See the context. To use this verse to degrade the gospel of Christ down to street level is a travesty of wresting the Scriptures. The apostles did not compromise for sinners. They demanded repentance from sinners.
A well-prepared movie is an intense presentation of a subject, and Mel Gibson is one of the best. Who was not ready to fight and die for "freedom" after watching Braveheart? His talents are well known. Two hours of graphic images and a moving soundtrack convinced Germany to sell their souls to Adolph Hitler (see the propaganda film, Triumph of the Will, as merely one example).
The New Testament is based on understanding (I Cor 14:15). It is based on a sound mind (II Tim 1:7). It is not based on emotional foam washed up on the shore of a silly heart by the hypnotic waves of audio and visual stimuli. The end-justifies-the-means crowd, with their Jesus rap and Jesus and Mary action toys, are entirely out of contact with the Bible and fulfill its dire warnings.
We live in the perilous times of the last days (II Tim 3:1-5). The cure for this age of religious compromise is the preaching of God's word and sound doctrine, not entertainment and fables, like this movie about Jesus (II Tim 4:1-4). Any response to this movie is not a work of the Spirit of God, for the Bible declares that God converts His elect through plain preaching by plain men.
The New Testament religion of Jesus Christ is worshipping God in spirit and in truth (John 4:23-24). The sensual religion of sight, sound, smell, feel, and taste of the Old Testament has passed away altogether (Luke 16:16; Heb 9:10). The kingdom of Jesus Christ does not come with observation, for it is a spiritual kingdom within men, and it cannot be assisted by sensual means.
4. Mel took the Bible out of context and embellished it. Mel showed Mary helping Jesus after he fell under the cross, and he looked at her and said, "Behold, I make all things new." These words are from Revelation 21:5 and have nothing to do with Jesus improving humanity at the cross. He will make all things new for His elect, when He burns up the world and makes it over again!
The movie contains many innovations and additions not recorded in the gospels. Jesus was not an action hero for enduring the pain of the cross. He was the sacrificial Lamb of God for enduring the shame of the cross! Mel's carnal view of carnage is not a Biblical view of the crucifixion. The Bible's lack of details is for a purpose: it emphasizes the doctrine of the cross, rather than its gore.
Mel used two nun-mystics for content. They were Catherine Emmerich (1774-1824) and Mary of Agreda (1602-1665). These two silly women dreamed the embellishments that Mel worked into his movie. As a Catholic, it matters little to Mel to corrupt the Biblical record with the hallucinations of troubled women; for any vision is as good as Scripture. All you need to do to verify this charge is read the works of the two women and listen to Mel talk about his "signs."
5. Where is the doctrine? Jesus did not die as a martyr or example. He died for specific reasons. The crucifixion of Jesus Christ has an essential theological and doctrinal framework, of which Mel Gibson knows very little. Simply showing 120 minutes of gory details of a crucifixion with a moving soundtrack does nothing to proclaim the infallible mysteries of the gospel.
Jesus did not come to bring peace on earth! He came to bring a sword! Read it in Matthew 10:34-39. He was set for the rising and falling of many in Israel (Luke 2:34-35). There was a great division among the people because of Him (John 7:43; 9:16; 10:19). Mel's idea of Jesus coming and dying to bring peace for all men is ludicrous in light of the Bible record of Him.
Jesus did not die as an example of love. He died for His elect. He died according to the eternal counsel of God to be a substitutionary sacrifice for them. Jesus did not die for the human race in any way, shape, or form. He died to pay the sin debt of the elect given to Him by the Father before the world began, and not a single one of them will miss salvation by Him (John 6:39; 10:11; 17:2).
Faith follows regeneration. Both thieves cursed Jesus and railed on Him (Matt 27:44). The change in one of them was by the power of God, not by the thief's choice (John 1:13). How did Mel show God's sovereign regeneration of one of the thieves, and holy rejection of the other? Remember, the crucifixion of Jesus only has value to the degree it is understood in a context of true doctrine.
The gospel reveals mysteries. The gospel of Jesus Christ declares mysteries of hidden wisdom unknown to natural man (I Cor 2:6-14). So, how can Mel Gibson, a blind Roman Catholic, possibly communicate such things to other natural men? The movie is a futile effort of natural men to convince natural men of the natural agony of Jesus of Nazareth. It is doomed to spiritual failure!
Mel and the movie are cursed. Paul said any angel or man presenting a gospel different than what he preached was cursed (Gal 1:8-9). Mel's faith, religion, church, and presentation are contrary to what the apostle Paul taught. For example, Paul taught that celibacy and fish on Friday were doctrines of the devil (I Tim 4:1-3). Yet the Catholic Church commands both, and Mel agrees! For example, Paul taught Jesus died once and put sins away forever, but the Mass is a vain repetition of that sacrifice!
6. What is the bottom line of the movie? The gospel of Jesus Christ teaches men something - it teaches men the life of self-denial and rejection of the world and all its lusts. It teaches sober, righteous, and godly living. It teaches that men should look for the coming of Jesus Christ and be zealous of good works. This is the bottom line of the true gospel (Titus 2:11-14; Rom 12:1-2).
Will viewers leave to keep God's commandments? Not a chance! Even though the fundamental message of Jesus of Nazareth was this: "If ye love me, ye will keep my commandments," and, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Mel would not dare repeat those words and give them any Biblical definition, for it would condemn his whole career and religion!
Neither the Lord Jesus Christ nor His apostles ever presented the gospel without strong warnings of future judgment without proper repentance. They reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and coming judgment to their audiences, not just an emotional view of the crucifixion (Acts 2:33-36; 17:30-31; 24:25). Jesus is not on a crucifix, where Catholics like him! He is on the throne of heaven! Why did Mel leave this out? Is there a co-director spirit petrified of the real Jesus?
Who will tell each audience the many sins for which they ought to repent? Mel certainly will not. If every viewer truly repented, Mel would never earn another dime of royalties, for they would never watch his profane movies again. When the apostles of Jesus Christ preached, men repented and turned their lives upside down! The true gospel of Jesus Christ is life changing!
The Lord Jesus Christ is sitting at the right hand of power, waiting for the time to reveal Himself as the blessed and only Potentate, King of kings and Lord of lords (I Tim 6:13-16). An empty tomb does not rightly represent Him! He is rightly represented by coming with His holy angels in flaming fire to destroy everything Hollywood is and stands for (II Thess 1:7-9)!
7. The name of Jesus Christ has no intrinsic value. Repeating the words has nothing to do with truth, no matter how many times they are said, as only the regenerate elect can truly say Jesus is Lord (I Cor 12:3). Seven sons of Sceva tried His name once, but they fled out of that house naked and wounded (Acts 19:13-17). His name and a few portions of the gospels have no intrinsic value.
There are many that claim the name of Jesus, whom Jesus will send to hell in a day fast approaching (Matt 7:21-23). God was sick of worldly men taking His name in their teeth in the Old Testament (Is 29:13), and today's form of godliness without any real authority and power makes Him sick in the New Testament (II Tim 3:1-5; Rev 3:15-16).
8. Mel's image of Jesus is shameful! Mel gave him long hair, which Jesus never had! God condemned long hair on a man (I Cor 11:14)! Mel is perpetuating the Catholic myth of a longhaired, effeminate Jesus. He fashioned his Jesus after the Shroud of Turin, which was proven to be a hoax years ago. Why does he think Jesus had hair longer than Pilate? Why does he think Pilate had hair shorter than Jesus? What blasphemous presumption to shame Jesus Christ!
9. The Shroud of Turin is a fraud and hoax. Mel used the Shroud of Turin as the model for applying makeup to Jim Caviezel. But we know from John 20:7 that Jesus was not wrapped in one burial cloth. There was a cloth napkin for His head, and linen clothes for His body. Why don't they read the Bible? Because they hate it! Because it condemns their pagan veneration of relics!
10. Mel used a false Bible version. Since he picked a translation for his subscripts, what version or versions did he choose? Newsweek declared it was the Revised Standard Version, the 75-book Bible of 1952 that calls the virgin mother of Jesus merely a "young woman" in Isaiah 7:14. Great place to start, isn't it? And this by a man who worships Mary and her mother!
For audio purposes, a Catholic translated the words into Aramaic. That makes good verbal sense, doesn't it? Take words written in Greek, translate them into English, and then translate them into Aramaic. Whoever read or heard, "It is accomplished." These are not the words of Jesus! He didn't accomplish it; He finished it. Of course, he did not use the King James Version, which in its very dedicatory introduction blasts out against the pope and religion of Rome. 11. Foaming praise condemns it. Worldly popularity is condemning! Things highly esteemed by men are abominations to God (Luke 6:26; 16:15)! Why is the rush for this movie much greater than the rush for the true Jesus? Because America is spiritual? Not a chance (II Tim 3:1-13)! Satan is pushing this movie to give the unregenerate a religious fix and to deceive the elect.
Jesus preached pure truth, healed the sick and raised the dead, was perfect in word and deed, and never asked for money from anyone. Yet, He only had 120 committed followers after three and one-half years (Acts 1:15). The tens of thousands of tickets being bought up even before the movie is released does not speak well for the movie. A carnal nation's excitement is condemning!
God is jealous for pure worship; He condemns friendship with the world as spiritual adultery (Jas 4:4). This movie was written by the world, directed by the world, produced by the world, marketed by the world, seen only in worldly movie houses, and endorsed by the world. The true followers of Jesus do not conform to this world's activities or ideas of religion (Rom 12:1-2; II Cor 6:14-17).
12. Mel Gibson is a compromiser. Why did he delete the segment based on Matthew 27:25, where the Jews screamed, "His blood be on us, and on our children"? Mel Gibson does not care about facts or truth. He cares about pleasing men and marketing a movie to satisfy Christ-rejecting Jews and Biblically-illiterate Christians enough to be a financial success. The Jews have always regretted that statement; they were trying to escape their own curse just 50 days later (Acts 5:28)!
When Pilate told Jesus he had authority to crucify or release Him, Jesus stated the obvious, "He that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin," meaning Caiaphas, the Jews' high priest (John 19:10-11). The New Testament record is that the Jews crucified Jesus out of wicked envy (Matt 27:18; Acts 2:22-23; I Thess 2:14-16). Jesus spoke of it often (Matt 16:21; 21:33-46; 22:1-9). The Romans merely executed the sentence. It is a Jewish fable to believe anything else (Titus 1:14).
The destruction of Jerusalem was the most visible evidence of the kingdom of Jesus Christ! He had promised the destruction of Jerusalem, which came in 70 A.D., just as Daniel had prophesied to Israel some 400 years earlier. Jesus was not, and is not, an effeminate, longhaired, religious guru; He is the reigning Son of David over all angels and men at this hour! Read the gory details of the destruction of Jerusalem by the great Jewish historian, Josephus, in his Wars of the Jews!
What fruits does Mel have as a prophet? Jesus taught, "By their fruits ye shall know them" (Matt 7:15-20). Mel's fruits are entirely of this world and pagan religion. His movies have played an important role in undermining the faith and morality of this nation and promoting a generation of lascivious and profane sinners. Where are the fruits of holiness and righteousness, which must and will characterize the labors of true disciples of Jesus Christ?
Mel promotes sin. His whole portfolio of movies is opposed to the religion of Jesus Christ. His movies promote faithless living, fornication, cursing, adultery, covetousness, revenge, gratuitous nudity and violence, disrespect of authority, pride, drunkenness, foolishness, profanity, etc., etc. When will this "squeaky clean" man condemn these movies, by which he makes a small fortune in royalties each and every month?
13. The movie cannot produce true conviction. If you are convicted or moved by this movie, you are being convicted and moved by the power of darkness and/or the multi-media presentation on your flesh. Why are you not moved by God's ordained method of preaching sound doctrine? It is impossible God would use carnal means to convict and move men to righteousness.
If you are "convicted" by this movie, why did reading John 18-19 not convict you? If preaching does not convict a man, he will not be truly convicted even if someone comes to him from the dead (Luke 16:27-31)! Therefore, the "conviction" of this movie is mere emotional reaction to a moving drama, nothing more than the sappy crying most do with Brian's Song or Romeo and Juliet.
Emotion is not conviction! Repentance is conviction! Tears prove nothing! Effusive praise of a moving multi-media presentation proves nothing! Only faith that works by love proves anything. Only repentance unto salvation not to be repented of proves something! Paul carefully avoided enticing words to move men, because he wanted their faith to stand only in the power of God.
Herod gladly heard John the Baptist, and Felix trembled at Paul's reasoning; but neither man had the repentance of a child of God. In both cases it was merely the natural fear of a natural man afraid of judgment. Any emotional response to this movie is nothing more than that of a natural man attending the funeral of a colleague, temporary and fruitless.
This movie cannot and will not save a single soul, in spite of all the claims and projections being made by evangelicals. Only God can regenerate a human soul, and He does it by His own power without any human cooperation or means (John 1:13; 3:8; 5:25). Though He never uses means for regeneration, he certainly would not use the world's fleshly means for such a spiritual operation.
14. This movie should be rated XXX. Children especially, and all emotional persons, will have difficulty separating fact from fiction and resisting the audio and visual combination. Once the images and subscripts are embedded in the mind by the relentless musical theme, they will be unable to read Scripture or hear preaching without mental recall of false images of a false Christ portrayed by Hollywood actors. 15. Catholicism is Anti-Christ. It defies the doctrine of Jesus Christ in 100s of ways and fulfills the Bible prophecies of the greatest enemy of Christianity, but that is a study beyond this critique. Check section 25; paragraph 6 of the original Westminster Confession of Faith or the Epistle Dedicatory of the King James Version. The movie is a portrayal of Christ by the anti-Christ!
Of course, this assertion will be hard for many to accept or understand. The Bible warns against Roman Catholicism very strongly in many places (Dan 7:1-28; II Thess 2:3-12; I Tim 4:1-3; Rev 12:1-17; 13:1-18; 17:1-18; 18:1-24). Just 300 years ago all evangelicals believed and understood this assertion. They had just fought the Protestant Reformation to oppose their great enemy.
The director is Catholic; the producer is Catholic; the main actor is Catholic; and the scriptwriters included Catholic nun-mystics. Catholics are foaming about the movie. The movie says nothing against priests, baptismal regeneration, St. Anne, celibacy, rosaries, popes, flattering titles, Mary worship, sacraments, the Inquisition, infant sprinkling, superstition, perpetual virginity, fish on Friday, the confessional, and other abominations that Jesus and His apostles preached against.
The movie will be released on a Wednesday, which is very unusual, except for it being Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent! Lent is 40 days of fasting (excluding Sundays) that ends on Easter Eve. It begins on a Wednesday, when ashes are put on the forehead, thus Ash Wednesday. What is Catholic fasting? Abstaining from meat, just as Paul condemned (I Tim 4:1-3). Look for fish and vegetarian specials during Lent! The other superstitions during this season are Legion.
We believe God has His elect in the Catholic Church, but He calls them to come out of her (Rev 18:4). We would do anything for sincere believers deceived by Catholicism, but we cannot whitewash the doctrinal and practical heresies of that system. The Reformation and even the formation of this country occurred through efforts to reject Rome and pursue Biblical Christianity.
16. Mel Gibson is an extreme Catholic. Mr. Gibson is not your ordinary Catholic. He still hears the Mass in Latin and abstains from meat on Friday. He rejects the compromises of Vatican II. He had his own Catholic chapel, called Holy Family, built near his home in California. "The New Yorker" quoted him in a September 15, 2003 edition, "There is no salvation for those outside the Church."
He told the National Catholic Register (March 16-22, 2003, edition), "When I was 35, I started praying the Prayers of St. Bridget and they really helped me understand what the passion was all about. Now I want to share it with others."
Mel attended Mass each morning during production. He wanted to be "squeaky clean." There is no cleansing power at all in a Catholic Mass! In fact, it is the greatest abomination of the Catholic Church - the heresy of transubstantiation. The Mass is a hocus-pocus ritual (the actual Latin words are hoc est corpus meum), in which a priest on stage pretends to turn a cracker into God Himself - the body, blood, soul, and divinity of Jesus! Catholics must assassinate their minds for their faith!
Going to Mass was going to the devil for inspiration and power in the production of this movie. If Paul called Rome's doctrines of celibacy and abstaining from meat to be doctrines of devils, what would he say of the Mass (I Tim 4:1-3)? The blasphemy of the Mass was once understood and hated by Bible-believing Christians, but the ecumenical march to wholesale compromise goes on.
17. Jim Caviezel cannot portray Jesus of Nazareth. A Hollywood actor cannot portray the true Jesus of Nazareth. It is blasphemous to even try to portray the person, character, and actions of the Lord Jesus Christ. What man can represent the unrepresentable? Especially in a personal and visual way? The man in the movie does not look like Jesus, sound like Jesus, or act like Jesus. To read of people bowing down to this man is ludicrous, but very possible given today's ignorance.
Consider his tone of voice, his body language, his character development, his temperament, his appearance, the implication of his thoughts, etc., etc. All these are matters of human imagination, which go far beyond the limits of Scripture. Mr. Gibson, being a Biblically-illiterate Catholic, used his own imagination and consulted the writings of two nun-mystics to find hallucinations to embellish the gospel record. He admits they gave him material he would never have thought of.
Jim Caviezel is so superstitious he carried a piece of wood during production that he believed was a piece of the real cross! He prayed the rosary every day, which is the superstitious chanting of a heathen (Matt 6:7). He said in an interview, "This film is something that I believe was made by Mary for her Son." His ungodly purpose in the movie is to "bring mankind back together." Conclusion 18. You will destroy your soul. The Jesus of the movie is not the Jesus of the Bible. The Jesus of the movie is not the Jesus of God. You are going to the devil to get a view of Jesus, and you will not undo the damage easily. The Jesus you see is that which Satan wants you to see. He does not want you to see the Jesus before Whom he trembled, and by Whom he will soon be cast into hell.
You will put your trust in another Jesus, another gospel, and another spirit, all of which are false (II Cor 11:1-4,13-15). You will think you know Jesus, when you do not. You will think you know how He thinks of you, but you will not. You will be deceived into confidence of your relationship with Him, without a true basis for that confidence. One day soon you will be very surprised!
19. You will destroy your mind. Once you have allowed Mr. Gibson to brainwash you with a sight-and-sound show of the devil's illusion of Jesus Christ, you will be unable to easily purge your memory of the images and impulses. Reading the Bible, listening to preaching, hearing songs about His death, or whatever godly means you use to consider Jesus Christ will recall the movie. You will be praying to a Hollywood, synthetic Jesus of various takes for various scenes.
When faced with temptations of a sinful world, you will not recall the King of glory or the High King of heaven. Your mind will be stuffed with false images of an effeminate guru taken from the Shroud of Turin and interpreted through the hallucinations of nuns. Instead of being able to sing, "Hallelujah, the Lord God omnipotent reigneth," you will hum the bleeding heart soundtrack.
20. You will destroy your life. The religion of Jesus Christ is not gathering with pagans and carnal Christians to get emotional about a caricature of the crucifixion. The obvious ecumenical intent of this movie is contrary to the separation demanded by the Bible. The call of the Lord Jesus Christ is to come out of Rome and her false Christianity (Rev 18:4). Your life will never be the same. You will become a deceived victim of the great deception (II Thess 2:9-12). You have been warned! God wants you to know what Jesus will be like when you see Him in reality: "Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device. And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead."
Acts 17:29-31 "I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession; That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen."
I Timothy 6:13-16 "And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
