According to Chair UNESCO on Peace and Human rights of the Independent University of Barcelona, from 1980 to 1998 Spain it has sold ordnance to the Armed Forces of general Pinochet by a value superior to the 120,000 million Pta, to present prices. The more important well-known exports talk about aeronautical material, with airplanes of valued training and transport in near 50,000 million Pta. Secondly it appears the Scorpene submarine contracted the past year, valued in 30.000 million. The rest of the material talks about to trucks, vehicles antiriot, sidearms, explosive and the ammunition. These sales have always gone accompanied by controversy, until the point that in 1987 the socialist Government was forced to present/display a report to the Parliament (the call "informs Apolonio"), in that was recognized that the sales from arms to Chile during cuatrienio 1983-1986 ascended to more than 15,000 million Pta. In August of 1986, the Government had to decree an embargo from arms to this country, although never the signed contract deliveries were interrupted previously. In the Nineties, the exports have returned to intensify, giving numerous cargo planes, parts of the training airplanes, besides to contract the submarine mentioned one.
