- : MORE GREETINGS to all and the newcomers to this list. We'd
like to introduce ourselves. George and Rita Williams founded
this ministry. We were Mormons (Temple Mormons) for 20 years.
We prayed to God in 1992 to allow us to do a ministry speaking
out against Scientology. Six months later God led us to the truth:
out of the cult of Mormonism. We did not know at the time we
were in a cult. No-one had witnessed to us in 20 years. [George
passed away to heaven in March 2003 and Nicholas Stivers joined
the ministry as Vice President.]
- The Holy Spirit brought us to information about all the cults
and the present development of the New World Order. We began
bringing our research to you. Because all the research was already
done, we decided to build a library within Cephas Ministry. Our
newsletters are not designed to provoke
anger or resistance to evil which is strictly prohibited in Scripture.
It is to shed light on activities by those who would deceive
the elect by devious methods and systematic plans.

- The focus of these newsletters is to prove why we had
to leave the world system. We are called 'Watchmen on the
Wall' which God always had during the Old / New Testament Times.
- To understand what is happening, one has to know the Bible
to compare notes.
- The first section is about the church.
The news about churches is unedited unless indicated by Ednotes.
The church as we knew it, is undergoing disintegration. This
began on a fast track in the early nineteen sixties when the
Catholic Church produced liberal Vatican II to replace Vatican
I.
- The trend since then has been ecumenical which is truly what
the word 'Catholicism' means: a universal religion all
inclusive and multicultural. The Bible calls for a final church
which doesn't resemble what Jesus taught. The Word of God has
undergone many changes to fit the present mode. The Bible calls
for a falling away from the truth before Jesus
comes back for His Bride, the true believers are called 'Ekklesia.'
Our newsletters prove this fact and prove that the Bible is true
from beginning to end.
- The second section is about globalism
where we bring your attention to the social, political and global
trend, so called democratizing what is left. One third of the
world still remains to be taken over. It again proves that we
are moving to closure of the times of the Gentiles prophesied
in the Bible.
- The third section compliments End Time
teachings with what is happening in Israel. We describe and watch
for signs of the coming Tribulation to confirm that we are moving
into that space of time.
- Watchmen on the wall do not solicit memberships. We have
an email group that gets information when we upload new information
and a newsletter whenever it is possible time wise. We love the
Lord with all our hearts and minds and we love all people God
has created but especially those who love our Lord and Savior,

- WHY ROSH HASHANAH IS THE RAPTURE
- by Roy A. Reinhold: "... The annual feast days of the
Bible are festivals, called "moed," an appointed time
and a sacred assembly for the purposes of rehearsing. They are
rehearsals because the way in which the feast days are fulfilled
is in accordance with the rehearsal, and because the fulfillment
will occur on that exact day. We know that the fulfillment of
the spring feast days has already occurred, when Jesus was on
the earth nearly 2000 years ago. The lamb for the Passover celebration
is selected on the 10th day of 1st month, and Jesus was hailed
as Messiah on His triumphant entry into Jerusalem on the exact
day of the 10th of Nisan. The day of the preparation (Passover),
is when the lamb is killed, the 14th of Nisan. Jesus was crucified
for our sins as the Lamb of God on the exact 14th day of the
1st month. On the day after the weekly Sabbath during the Feast
of Unleavened Bread, the Firstfruits offering is made before
God as a wave offering of a sheaf of the spring harvest. Jesus
was raised from the dead and ascended to heaven on the exact
day of Firstfruits, 3 days after being crucified. Finally, 50
days later on Pentecost (Shauvot), the two loaves of bread made
from the spring harvest are waved before God at the altar. You
know the answer, exactly on Pentecost, the Holy Spirit was poured
out on born-again believers, the result of the shed blood of
the Lamb and the accepted offering on Firstfruits. Just as the
spring feast days pinpointed the exact days of fulfillment of
God our Father's eternal plan, so the fall feast days are rehearsals
which will pinpoint the next steps in His plan, and they will
be fulfilled on the exact days of the feasts. Now, let's dive
into what the rehearsal of Rosh Hashanah, the form and words
of the services, shows as the future fulfillment of Rosh Hashanah.
- On Rosh Hashanah a series of Trumpet blasts are blown to
announce the arrival of God, the King of the Universe, the Judge
of all Creation, for judgment of the people of the earth. However,
this judgment is not for all people, only for the righteous whose
names are written in the Book in heaven. The righteous are sinless
and blameless before God. Their judgment is then not a punishment
judgment, but a reward judgment. What of all the rest of the
people? The vast majority of people on the earth are not righteous,
but a mixture of good and bad, and will not be judged on Rosh
Hashanah. God, the King of the Universe, remands over the majority
of people to an additional period of time to repent and become
part of the righteous. This second judgment will be after the
Days of Awe or 10 Days of Repentance. During the troublesome
time of the Days of Awe, the rest of the people of the earth
can prepare themselves for the sure judgment of all people of
the earth on Yom Kippur. They can change their ways, repent of

Envoy: U.S. supports road map but understands unilateral move

U.S. Ambassador to Israel Richard Jones said Tuesday that the
only way to determine the permanent borders between Israel and
the Palestinians is through negotiations leading to an agreement.
He was speaking at a press conference in Tel Aviv and when asked
whether the U.S. administration supports the convergence plan
of interim Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, which is based on unilateral
measures, Jones replied, "We support the road map and we
continue to support negotiations because we believe it is the
only way to solve the conflict. My understanding is that this
is the approach of Olmert and Kadima as well, that they also
would prefer to reach an agreement." Jones said that if
Olmert takes unilateral action after it becomes clear that Israel
does not have a partner for peace, that would be understandable.
"We'll see how that fits in with U.S. policy," Jones
said, "We support an agreement through negotiations and
are doing everything possible to turn Hamas into a partner."

Bush lets Hamas-led PA keep U.S. office open By The Associated
Press
Citing the goal of a lasting Middle East peace, U.S. President
George W. Bush waived legislative restrictions and allowed the
Hamas-led Palestinian Authority to keep its Washington office
open for at least six months. The United States has designated
Hamas a terrorist organization, and Hamas' victory in Palestinian
parliamentary elections in January resulted in a no-contact policy
with the Palestinian Cabinet and its ministries. Representation
of the Palestinian Authority in Washington, however, remains
a useful channel of communication to Mahmoud Abbas, who remains
committed to the peace process and is still chairman of the authority,
White House spokesman Ken Lisaius said Thursday.
- "A just, lasting and comprehensive peace between Israel
and its neighbors has been a long-standing and bipartisan goal
of U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East," Lisaius said.
"In order to advance this goal, the United States should
maintain its ties and contacts with all sides committed to peace."
If Bush had not waived restrictions in the 1987 anti-terrorism
law, the office in Washington would have been barred from operating
and U.S. banks would have been required to block access to Palestinian

- MORMON SECT SEEKS NEW JERUSALEM IN LONDON

- They have survived the Osmonds and a reputation for preppy,
suited missionaries knocking on doors. Now the Mormons, the religious
sect known for its abstinence from alcohol and its past practice
of polygamy, is pushing for wider acceptance in Britain with
the installation of an “embassy” in Kensington, West
London. The trust-building exercise comes amid speculation that
Mitt Romney, the Republican Governor of Massachusetts, could
become the first Mormon President of the United States. The
new embassy and a higher profile for the Church will pose a challenge
for the mainstream churches, which do not recognise Mormons as
Christians. Indeed, some believe that the march of Mormonism
in Britain and across the world could lead to a redefining of
what it is to be Christian. Mormons have radically different
doctrines on God, salvation and the priesthood from the mainstream
churches. They claim that, after the Resurrection, Christ ministered
in the US for a brief time and that Zion will be built in the
West.

- RABBI CALLS FOR UN OF RELIGIONS
- BBC, UK - Mar. 20, 2006 - Danny Wood - news.bbc.co.uk - The
Chief Rabbi of Israel, Yona Metzger, has called for the creation
of a world body with representatives from the major religious
groups. Rabbi Metzger was addressing the International Congress
of Imams and Rabbis for Peace in Seville, Spain. He called for
the formation of a "United Nations of religious groups".
The Imam of Gaza, Imad al-Faluji, said politicians lied but religious
leaders had a different objective - to work towards a higher
good. The imams and rabbis at this conference, which opened on
Sunday, say the world is in crisis and it is time they acted
to restore justice, respect and peace.
- Straight talking - The delegates have made it very clear
that now is the time for concrete initiatives.
- At the opening ceremony Rabbi Yona Metzger said his idea
of a "United Nations of religious groups" could "bring
a bridge between religions to help the bridge of the diplomatic
way". That plan has broad support from key participants
like Frederico Major, the co-president of the Alliance for Civilisations,
the lobby group for international conflict resolution, supported
by the United Nations and initiated by Spain's Prime Minister,
Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero.
- The speeches at this conference rather than using polite,
diplomatic language have at times been brutally direct. When
the Rabbi Metzger harangued mainstream Muslims for not standing
up to Osama bin Laden, Islamic leaders nodded in agreement. Both
Muslim and Jewish leaders have shown a preparedness to take criticism.
Funding has come from a mixture of sources, including a start-up
grant from the Home Office.
- Interfaith. There have also been strong expressions of opposition
to any killing in the name of religion.
- At the end of the opening ceremony, the Muslim delegation
sang an oration to the Prophet Mohammed before resuming discussions
about the ideas they plan to present to their Jewish counterparts..
The religious leaders have three days to come up with a manifesto
that aims to convert their words into actions.

- ISRAEL'S CHIEF RABBI ASKS DALAI LAMA TO HELP SET UP RELIGIOUS

- The chief rabbi of Israel, Yonah Metzger, and other rabbis
and Muslims met with the Dalai Lama in February and asked his
assistance in setting up a United Nations of Religion in Jerusalem.
Metzger said, "Instead of planning for nuclear war and buying
tanks and fighter jets, it will invest in peace" ("Chief
Rabbi Asks Dalai Lama," Israel National News, Feb. 19).
It was reported that the Dalai Lama was "very excited about
the idea" and offered his help. Attending the meeting was
Israeli Rabbi Shlomo Amar, Rabbi David Rosen of the American
Jewish Committee, Rabbi Menachem Froman of Tekoa, and "various
Islamic sheikhs." "For when they shall say, Peace
and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as
travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But
ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake
you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children
of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore
let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober"
(1 Thess. 5:3-6).

- INTERESTING TWOSOME, NEIL BUSH AND REV. MOON [WHO IS RUNNING
THE CHURCH?]
- More recently, Bush showed up in the Philippines and Taiwan
at the side of the Reverend Sun Myung Moon, the head of the controversial
Unification Church. In the Philippines, Bush attended the inaugural
convocation of the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) in Manila,
the Manila Bulletin reported.
- Bush, along with other "peace leaders", joined
with Moon in meeting with Philippine President Gloria Macapagal
Arroyo. The president "praised Moon for his global peace
efforts and God-centred, family-centred economic and social initiatives
in various parts of the world, including projects in a number
of Philippine cities", the Manila paper reported. Moon's
Philippines trip, one stop on a 100-day tour that is taking him
to 100 cities in 67 nations and covering nearly 100,000 miles,
was aimed at building momentum for his idea
of developing a faith-based path to peace by revamping the United
Nations.

- MUSLIM LEADER CALLS FOR WORLDWIDE ISLAMIC RULE.

- Speaking to a large crowd of Muslims on Feb. 24 on the Temple
Mount in Jerusalem, Sheikh Ismail Nawahda called for worldwide
Islamic rule. Nawahda called for the restoration of the Muslim
Khalifate or "Genuine Islamic Rule" that would "unite
all the Muslims in the world against the infidels" ("Muslim
Preacher on Temple Mount," Israel National News, Feb. 26).
The Khalifate would feature a world leader assisted by a ten-man
council, with their decisions binding on all Muslims. Nawahda
praised the violent worldwide protests against the Mohammed cartoons
and "implied that those who insulted Mohammed are liable
for death." The man is dreaming, of course, because Muslims
are so disunited that they are targeting one another with suicide
bombers. Further, we have read the last chapter of The Book,
and it says nothing about worldwide Islamic rule. Instead, the
antichrist out of the old Roman Empire will rule over the world
for about three and a half years. About that time stubborn Israel
will finally turn to her Messiah Jesus Christ and will receive
Him joyfully at His glorious return to establish His earthly
kingdom with its headquarters in Jerusalem. The antichrist and
all of those that take his mark will be cast into the lake of
fire and the nations will be judged on the basis of how they

- EPISCOPAL DIOCESE OF CALIFORNIA NOMINATES HOMOSEXUALS FOR
OFFICE OF BISHOP. Church News Notes, March 3, 2006 - David Cloud,
www.wayoflife.org - The Episcopal diocese of California has included
a homosexual man and a lesbian woman among the five nominees
for the office of "bishop." The state election will
be held in May and the winner must be confirmed by the Episcopal
General Convention in June. In 2003 the International Anglican
Communion led by Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams issued
a study called the "Windsor Report," calling for a
moratorium "on the appointment of gay bishops." There
is no stopping the apostasy and filthiness within the Anglican
Communion, though. How foolish it is to call for a moratorium
on the appointment of homosexual bishops when practicing homosexuals
are allowed to join Anglican congregations and to hold offices
within the congregation, including that of pastor. The Anglican
Communion is filled to overflowing with theological liberalism
and immorality.

- April 05. 2006 (CWNews.com) - A Russian Orthodox leader has
called upon Pope Benedict XVI (bio - news) to renounce the titles
suggesting the universal authority of the Roman Pontiff, the
Reuters news service reports.
- “Only renouncing titles stressing the universal jurisdiction
of the pope, and the ecclesiological doctrine hidden behind that,
would be a real step on the path toward reconciliation between
the Orthodox and Catholic churches,” said Bishop Hilarion
of Vienna. He said that remaining papal titles, such as "Supreme
Pontiff of the Universal Church," are offensive to the Orthodox
faithful, who do not recognize the Pope's authority over the
Eastern churches.
- The Orthodox bishop had earlier criticized Pope Benedict
for dropping the title, "Patriarch of the West." Bishop
Hilarion argued that if he no longer identified himself with
the Church in the West, the Pope could be claiming further authority
over the Eastern churches.
- The Russian Orthodox hierarchy has frequently complained
about the activities of the Catholic Church in countries that
are traditionally Orthodox. Ironically, Bishop Hilarion presides
over the Orthodox community in historically Catholic Austria.

like these. To me these public figures of control such as Bloomberg,

schoolchildren. You can instantly see who has the power without

school children. It looks like Bloomberg is eager to meet his

- THE CATHOLIC CHURCH CLAIMS A MODERN-DAY MIRACLE IS UNFOLDING
IN ROCKINGHAM
It says that a 50-year-old father of three, whose identity is
being kept secret, is displaying stigmata on his hands and feet
wounds that appear to be similar to those on the crucified body
of Christ. The Rev Father Finbarr Walsh told The Sunday Times
this week that he had witnessed the phenomena, which lasted 24
hours and included visions of and messages from the Virgin Mary.
He said he had never seen such a thing in his 50 years as a priest,
with the wounds appearing to be covered in blood. He believed

as Jesus was God in the flesh, God raised Jesus from the dead,
and the Resurrection opened the singular path available for men
and women to intimately and eternally connect with God. These

- The 'Be Still' DVD, just released by Fox Home Entertainment,
and featuring Richard Foster, Dallas Willard, Calvin Miller and
Beth Moore has one main message: You cannot know God if you do
not practice the art of going into the silence. That silence
the DVD refers to is a special state of mind, different than
normal prayer, and the DVD introduces an array of meditators,
from a number of religious persuasions, to tell viewers about
this state of silence. From those who promote guided imagery
(Katherine-Brown Sultzman) to those who promote interspirituality,
the DVD should not be classified as Christian. Jesus Christ is
rarely mentioned, nor is the gospel presented. What is presented
is a deceptive collection of dangerous commentaries, and there
should be a warning label on the cover - NSFA - Not Safe For
Anyone. I think Richard Foster spelled it out clearly when in
the DVD he said, "The wonderful thing about contemplative
prayer is that it can be found everywhere, anywhere, anytime
for anyone." In other words, you can practice this meditative
tool and reach divinity, have peace and know God ... regardless
of where you are with Jesus Christ. It is this very deep-rooted
heresy that Ray Yungen and Brian Flynn have been trying to warn
against - contemplative spirituality negates the Cross, demeans
the sacrifice of Jesus, and nullifies the only way for man to
be saved.

An international group whose goal is converting Jews to Christianity
is holding its North American conference next month in Pittsburgh.
The Lausanne Consultation on Jewish Evangelism
includes evangelical streams from several U.S. denominations
and includes among its members European national churches and
Christian-Jewish groups like Jews for Jesus.
- Theresa Newell, coordinator of the 23rd annual conference
and leader of LCJE's North American chapter, is employed by Trinity
Episcopal School for Ministry in Ambridge. "My mandate from
the Gospel is the whole church is to take the whole Gospel to
the whole world," said Dr. Newell, director of the seminary's
travel study program. She opened the first American office "for
the historic Anglican ministry among Jewish people" in 1980.
- "My responsibility is to proclaim the Gospel to anyone
willing to hear it," she said. "Jewish people have
the right to hear the Gospel of Jesus proclaimed to them."
- Pittsburgh Jewish leaders aren't so sure about that. Several
met in January with Dr. Newell and Assistant Bishop Henry Scriven
of the Episcopal Diocese of Pittsburgh to express their disappointment
about the conference, because it occurs on the heels of a fall
initiative in Pittsburgh by Jews for Jesus to confront and convert
Jews. No protests are planned as the three-day conference April
24-26 will be held inside the Pittsburgh Marriott Center City
Hotel.
- Nicholas Lane of Point Breeze, a member of the American Jewish
Committee's board of governors who attended the January meeting
with Dr. Newell, said that an organization that seeks to convert
Jews "implies that Judaism is incomplete and essentially
denies the covenant that Jews have with God." .. The covenant
was expanded in 1989 with the Willowbank Declaration, which denies
that Judaism "contains within itself true knowledge of God's
salvation."
- "Personally, I'm sympathetic to its aims," Bishop
Scriven said. "It's a personal involvement as opposed to
an institutional involvement."
- Dr. Newell said the LCJE is an international organization
with no interest in "any kind of forced conversion."
- "The goal of the group is to be a global organization
in which people involved in Jewish evangelism can come together,"
she said. ... The goals of the LCJE are at odds with statements
about Jewish evangelism issued by numerous Christian organizations
during the past several years, including the World Council of
Churches, the Christian Scholars Group on Christian-Jewish Relations
and U.S. Catholic bishops, who in 2002 agreed that "campaigns
that target Jews for conversion to Christianity are no longer
theologically acceptable in the Catholic Church."

- 1. According to L Ron Hubbard - founder of Scientology -
it is important to stay silent during childbirth. This is to
ensure the avoidance of "engrams' - impressions formed in
the brain because of "physical pain or painful" experiences.
- 2. Engrams are only relieved through "auditing"-
a form of therapy - which is presumably difficult to perform
during childbirth. Morning sickness is an "engram"

According to Hubbard, emotions are transferred to a child through
an electrical wave. "Therefore anyone who is emotional around
a pregnant woman is communicating that emotion straight to the
child."
- 9. Childhood illness mostly comes from - you guessed it -
engrams. Prevent this, says Hubbard, by creating a "calm
and harmonious atmosphere" for the child.
- 10. Furthermore: "Say nothing around a sick child or
an injured child. Smile, appear calm, but say nothing."
- 11. "If she [the child] falls, she should be helped
- but silently."
- 12. "Drooling sympathy" offered to a child when
he is sick or feeling unwell can trigger engrams
- 13. When a young child bounces on a pregnant woman's lap,
her unborn child gets an engram.

word is going to be engramic".
- 15. In Scientology, there are those who are prone to engrams
and those who are called Clears. A Clear is a rational person

a high-caliber shoot-'em-up videogame of their own. Due out on
PCs in the second half of 2006, Left Behind: Eternal Forces is
the first game adapted from the blockbuster books by Tim LaHaye
and Jerry Jenkins. Gamers familiar with the largely uninspiring
and unprofitable history of Christian videogames will quickly
notice two differences in Forces: the top-shelf design, which
offers an eerily authentic reproduction of the game's Manhattan
setting, and a level of violence reminiscent of Grand Theft Auto.
The game revolves around New Yorkers who are "left behind"
after the rapture. Players scour the streets for converts, training
them into a work force to feed, shelter and join a paramilitary
resistance against the growing forces of the Antichrist.
- Left Behind Games CEO Troy Lyndon, whose company went public
in February, says the game's Christian themes will grab the audience
that didn't mind gore in "The Passion of the Christ."
"We've thought through how the Christian right and the liberal
left will slam us," says Lyndon. "But megachurches
are very likely to embrace this game." Though it will be
marketed directly to congregations, Forces will also have a secular
ad campaign in gaming magazines.

was the gospel of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus

ordered 10,000 of the customized Bibles to hand out at adult
film conventions.

- This thinking by a majority of Americans contradicts a basic
tenet of Christianity. - Most Americans don't believe they
will experience a resurrection of their bodies after they die,
putting them at odds with a core teaching of Christianity. The
findings of a Scripps Howard/Ohio University poll surprised and
dismayed some of the nation's top theologians since it seems
to put Americans in conflict with the Nicene Creed and the Apostles'
Creed, ancient statements of faith meant to unify Christian belief.
- The Nicene Creed, adopted in 325, concludes with: "We
look for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world
to come. Amen." The Apostles' Creed professes a belief in
"the resurrection of the body."
- Only 36 percent of the 1,007 adults interviewed by the Scripps
Survey Research Center at Ohio University said "yes"
to the question: "Do you believe that, after you die, your
physical body will be resurrected someday?"
- Fifty-four percent said they do not believe, and 10 percent
were undecided.
- "This reflects the very low state of doctrinal
preaching in our churches," said Al Mohler, president
of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky.,
and editor of the Southern Baptist Journal of Theology.
- "I continually am confronted by Christians, even active
members of major churches, who have never heard this taught in
their local congregations," he said. "We have a lowest-common-denominator
Christianity being taught in so many denominations that has produced
a people who simply do not know some of the most basic Christian
truths."
- Robert Wuthnow, director of the Center for the Study of Religion
at Princeton University, said the poll seems to have broken new
ground in understanding America's popular theology.
- "In a way, though, it doesn't surprise me," he
said. "I can think of interpretations of the creeds that
would suggest a spiritual resurrection rather than one of the
physical body." The survey was conducted by telephone from
Feb. 19 to March 3. It has a margin of error of 4 percentage
points.

Iran is "Persia" in Ezekiel 38-39, and so she
is prophetically protected in this war from destruction.
If the U.S. does attack Iran in order to change her regime, Russia
might very well intervene and, if Col. Weeks and LTC Bearden
are correct, might inflict large losses on our naval and air
forces.
- The same prophetic situation exists with Libya. Our forces
are reportedly ready to fly into Libya to attack and destroy
the Iraqi - North Korean nuclear research and production facility
located deep within that country. We might be allowed to destroy
that facility, but will not seize the land and destroy the government,
because Libya is prophesied to march with Russia in the invasion
of Israel [Ezekiel 38-39]. ..

the world might have its limitations; if the U.S. steps outside
these limitations, her armed forces might be destroyed. I have
seen strong indications that this World War III has a goal of
reducing America to less than superpower status. No U.N. global
government can effectively run the world if one nation is a "King
Kong". Therefore, if the nation who was so much more powerful
than the rest of the nations gets knocked down a few pegs, the
U.N. can function a lot more smoothly.

Charlie Rose WEDU 1.18.2006 interviewed Prime Minister of Pakistan
Shaukar Aziz. What was unsettling was the fact that the prime
minister wants Christians to agree to interfaith. He claims that
Moses, Jesus and Mohammed were prophets with the same beliefs.
Islam is a peace loving religion and misunderstood. He said that
India began their nuclear program in 1974 which drove Pakistan
to do the same for defense purposes. Pakistan has a population
of 50 million.

Several dozen police officers broke up a prayer meeting of about
200 Jehovah's Witnesses in southeastern Moscow and briefly detained
14 worshipers. The Wednesday evening raid promises to raise new
worries about a clampdown on minority religions at a time when
the clout of the Russian Orthodox Church is increasing.
More than 30 police officers burst into the prayer meeting in
a rented hall on Sovkhoznaya Ulitsa at around 9 p.m. and detained
14 organizers, Vasily Kalin, head of the managing committee of
the Jehovah's Witnesses in Russia, said Thursday. Kalin said
police told the worshipers that they were violating a 2004 ban
on Jehovah's Witnesses in Moscow. In June 2004, the Moscow City
Court barred the denomination from engaging in religious activities,
citing a law that bans religious groups deemed to incite hatred
or intolerance.
Kalin said the ban applied to Jehovah's Witnesses only as a legal
entity and that the Russian Constitution guaranteed members freedom
of assembly. Police said Thursday that the organizers were taken
to the Lyublino police precinct for routine document checks after
"vigilant" citizens reported the meeting to police.
- "They were released after it was established who they
were and that they didn't have warrants out for their arrest,"
said Olga Yegorova, a spokeswoman for the police's southeast
district branch.
The police arrived in about 10 cars while the worshipers were
commemorating the Last Supper by passing around symbolic bread
and wine, Kalin said.

as Welfare Square, stands a 15-barreled silo filled with wheat:
19 million lbs., enough to feed a small city for six months.
At the foot of the silo stands a man--a bishop with the Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints--trying to explain why the
wheat must not be moved, sold or given away. Around the corner
is something called the bishop's storehouse. It is filled with
goods whose sole purpose is to be given away. On its shelves,
Deseret-brand laundry soaps manufactured by the Mormon Church
nestle next to Deseret-brand canned peaches from the Mormon cannery
in Boise, Idaho. Nearby are Deseret tuna from the church's plant
in San Diego, beans from its farms in Idaho, Deseret peanut butter
and Deseret pudding. There is no mystery to these goods: they
are all part of the huge Mormon welfare system, perhaps the largest
nonpublic venture of its kind in the country. They will be taken
away by grateful recipients, replaced, and the replacements will
be taken away. But the grain in the silo goes nowhere. The bishop,

- AWANA CLUBS: ARE THEY HEADING TOWARD CONTEMPLATIVE / EMERGENT?
- Feb 23, 2006 Awana Clubs has been a respected and trusted
Christian organization for many years. Countless children have
been Cubbies and Sparkies and have memorized Scripture through
the program.
- With so much of the church heading into the contemplative
/ emergent camp, also known as the spiritual formation movement,
what a tragedy it would be to see Awana being sucked into this
also. Few things are stable these days ... is Awana the next
to cave in?
- A few days ago it was brought to our attention that Awana's
Kevin White sent out a notice to an undisclosed number of Awana
youth leaders, letting them know about the upcoming Willow Creek
Association's Student Ministries/Next Gen Leadership Conference
(February 27th). The notice encouraged leaders to attend and
told them where they could register. Today, we contacted Kevin
White and asked about the notice. He told us Willow Creek (promoters
of Spiritual Formation/contemplative) had contacted them
and offered them a room or booth. White said he had sent out
the notice, and Awana would be there at the conference.
- Our concern is that this organization may be seduced into
a spirituality that negates the very gospel message that Awana
Clubs has tried to promote.
- Worthwhile to note, on the Awana website, they are featuring
a book by George Barna titled, Transforming Children into Spiritual
Champions. On the front cover is an endorsement by Willow Creek,
Bill Hybels. And the Awana High School program's 24/7 Ministries
lists several recommended resources which they say "have
similar ministry interests to 24/7." These ministries include
Youth Specialties and Group Magazine (both emergent and contemplative)
as well as Church Growth Institute, NavPress and Youth for Christ
(which promotes the the Labyrinth).
- If your children are part of an Awana Club, or if you know
of a family who is, we encourage you to contact Awana Clubs and
share your concerns with them about attending a conference
that promotes the New Age and mysticism and also about
their connections to these other organizations. The contemplative
road is a slippery path to apostasy. May they heed the warning.

- NATIONAL PRAYER BREAKFAST OR SPIRITUAL TOWER OF BABEL?
- When the Muslim King of Jordan rose to give the benediction
at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington on February 2,
thousands of evangelical Christians rose with him to pray as
he petitioned Allah for his blessings on the assembled crowd.
When the breakfast was opened in prayer by an Orthodox Jew who
has rejected Jesus Christ as the Messiah, the crowd of evangelicals
bowed duly and prayed to a God that did not include their Saviour.
The name of Jesus Christ was, in fact, barely mentioned at the
event, according to the Washington Times. Evangelical leaders
of the annual breakfast had been criticized for having too much
of Jesus at past events. They made up for it this year by all
but ignoring Jesus Christ and giving the benediction prayer to
a Muslim for the first time. Following the event there was a
luncheon meeting at which the King of Jordan, King Abdullah II,
was the keynote speaker. In his speech to over 2,000 Christian
leaders, the king read 8 verses from the Koran and six from the
Bible. The attendees clapped like seals as the Muslim king called
for unity among moderate Jews, Christians and Muslims in order
to face down what he called, “our common enemy” --
extremism. King Abdullah called for “moderates” of
the world's big three religions to find common ground and unity.

- THE CHARISMATIC MOVEMENT OR THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH
- Church News Notes, March 10, 2006, www.wayoflife.org - One
reason why I have rejected the Pentecostal-Charismatic movement
is the clear teaching of Scripture that the Spirit of God is
the Spirit of truth. This is repeated three times in the Gospels:
"Howbeit when he, THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH, is come, he will
guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself;
but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will
shew you things to come" (John 16:13; see also 14:17 and
15:27). When we examine the Pentecostal and Charismatic movements
we find unscriptural doctrine on every hand, beginning at the
turn of the 20th century with Charles Parham and his baptism
of fire, sinless perfectionism, annihilationism, physical healing
as the believer's birthright, latter rainism, the sealing of
the Bride, a race of unsouled people, and Anglo-Saxon Israelism.
The Charismatic movement, which came along in the 1960s, seems
to care almost nothing for the truth, accepting liberal-minded
Episcopal bishops and Orthodox priests and Catholic bishops as
brethren in Christ on the basis of a shared experience and a
weakly defined theology. Large Charismatic conferences such as
New Orleans '87, which was attended by 40,000, yoke together
Baptists, Protestants, and Roman Catholics in one big happy "family"
that disregards massive doctrinal heresies in favor of a unity
based on shared experience. Roman Catholics spoke in tongues
in 1967 after a Pentecostal deacon from a church affiliated with
the Assemblies of God laid hands on them. Did they renounce the
heresies of baptismal regeneration and the papacy and prayers
to Mary and the sainthood and the mass? No. In fact, charismatic
experiences have confirmed Roman Catholics in dogma. The Full
Gospel Business Men's Association published a booklet entitled
Roman Catholics and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit containing
the charismatic testimonies of priests, nuns, and laity. The
conclusion? "Now they attend Mass more regularly, ARE MORE
DEVOTED CATHOLICS, and appreciate the liturgy [Roman Catholic
rituals] more fully" (The Catholic Gospel, Vol. 14, No.
1, p. 4). The Holy Spirit cannot be the Author of this confusion,
for He is the Spirit of Truth.
