This book is a must for any serious student of the Middle East peace process and the history of Israel. Chamish reveals how the official story behind the Rabin murder cannot be true, and that, contrary to popular belief, Rabin was probably killed by people who were interested in promoting the peace process rather than stopping it. Chamish offers some theories on what may have transpired behind the scenes. When you read the book, remember that the purpose of these theories are (probably not) to give 100% correct answers to everything that transpired, but to give you an idea of what MAY have happened. It becomes quite clear that the truth about Rabin's assassination has been twisted into fiction for digestion by the masses. Kudos to Chamish for this brave piece of work! The book presents a string of assertions but misses making a coherent argument. It almost seems like it was written as a stream-of-consciousness or as a speech instead of as a thesis to be proven. The facts may be good and I think most are, but it is a frustrating book to follow. Averaging facts (5 stars) and presentation (2 stars), I'd give this book 3.5 stars, but the presentation flaws are so deep that I couldn't round up to 4 and must round down to 3 stars. The last time I reacted to such a presentation like this was with Oliver Stone's movie JFK, which I shut off after 10 minutes and returned to months later having prepared myself for a conspiracy-theorist's onslaught. It is a propagandist's style more suitable for the popular shoutfests like Israeli television's Popolitika or the US's McLaughlin Group. I am not refuting the facts presented in the book, but I think readers should be forwarned that it is not a dispassionate presentation.
