Good Will Alliances with the Church of Scientology?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In cities on every continent, members of the Church donate thousands of hours in community work and provide assistance to a wide range of other goodwill groups.
The Church supports and contributes to other established community programs such as the Red Cross, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and local community groups in cities around the world. Church members’ support of and contribution to these programs range from broad participation in drug-free blood drives, to citywide collection of holiday toys for needy children, to donations of food and clothing for underprivileged families.
For years, the Church of Scientology in Portland has provided assistance to the Northeast Emergency Food Program, sponsored by Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon. The Portland church displays the award certificate received for “outstanding contribution” to the program’s fund-raising efforts.
In Orange County, California, Scientologists helped form a local chapter of the “Food for All” program with Lutheran Social Services and Presbyterian and Catholic groups in the area which provides food for the homeless.
The Church of Scientology of St. Louis raises funds for the US Marine Corps “Toys for Tots” program, while also carrying out a successful education program aimed at safeguarding children from crime. Both the Marine Corps and The Police News of Missouri have recognized the Church for its community service activities.
In Dallas, Scientologists raised thousands of dollars on behalf of Bryan’s House, a facility that helps children suffering from AIDS.
Church members in Sacramento head a project called “Operation Caring,” a community outreach program providing support and companionship for the elderly.
In Arizona, church volunteers participated in a pledge drive to support public television, raising $25,000-more than double the target set by the local public television station.
Church volunteers in Australia conduct clothing drives for underprivileged families and provide musical entertainment for the elderly.
In Germany, church volunteers also provide musical entertainment for the elderly at old-age homes, while in nearby Belgium, local Scientologists supported an annual 24-hour bicycle race, raising funds for cancer research.
In Montreal, the church is an active fund-raiser, joining forces with the Canadian National Hockey Team for various charities. Scientologists in Montreal support the Cerebral Palsy Association, led by a Scientologist who serves as vice-president of the association’s fund-raising committee.
Honoring a long tradition of helping the needy, and particularly children, over the Christmas holidays, Scientologists help spread Christmas goodwill in cities around the world. From California to New York, Scientologists in the United States collect food and gifts to cheer the holidays of those in need.
