Cephas Files: The Latter Rain

Note: Assemblies of God General Council's Resolution 16, in in August of 2000, stated that it was their hope that this General Council would reaffirm the stand taken by the 1949 General Council against the doctrine of the "Latter Rain" movment. (reason being that after 50 years, this same doctrine never left - it just changed names and is causing confusion and turmoil in the Assemblies. Guises are the "River Revival" at Brownsville and it's clones... What was painful to watch was that the leadership of the Aseemblies of God did not want this resolution passed. There was a lack of parliamentary order of the entire session. A member of the Resolutions Committee read the resolution and then immediately called for it to be "postponed indefinitely" and submitted to a "committee" for examinaiton. The motion was moved and seconded. No further discussion. (Alliance Biblical Pentecostals (ABP) Newsletter, 10045 Elgin Blvd. Spring Hill, FL 34608)
