The Indult Rumor
There was much discussion at Last Chance for World Peace
about the rumor -- and thats all it is -- that the Holy
Father is about to sign a "universal indult" which
will "allow" priests to once again say the traditional
Tridentine Mass without special permission from their ordinary.
In his talk "The Suicide of Altering the Faith in the Liturgy",
Father Paul Kramer told the conference that it is just plain
wrong to say that a priest who wants to say the Roman Mass of
All Ages needs permission from anyone, including the Pope. According
to Father Kramer, this is because, in his Bull Quo Primum, Pope
St. Pius V already ensured this universal right forever, and
pronounced a curse on anyone who might try to contradict it.
A good article by Father Kramer on Quo Primum and its meaning
today at http://www.catholictradition.org/Eucharist/quo-primum.htm
New book tells the truth about
the new Mass
Last Chance for World Peace also saw the official launch of
Father Paul Kramers new book bearing the same title as
his talk: The Suicide of Altering the Faith in the Liturgy.
This courageous and hard-hitting book tells the truth about the
changes in the Mass, which appear to have been predicted and
warned against in the Third Part of the Secret of Fatima. It
will undoubtedly lead a great many Catholics -- lay people as
well as clergy -- to return to the liturgical tradition that
they are bound to embrace by their profession of faith.
Heres a comment from one of the priests who attended the
conference, Father Paul S. Petko: "Father Kramers
Work is excellent! He gives a complete and convincing argument
explaining a major cause of the current crisis in the Church
today.... His insights into the mind of the Church regarding
her Law and her Liturgy are clear and absolutely penetrating.
His candidness in explaining why the hierarchy still fails to
do anything about the current situation leads me to the logical
and inevitable conclusion that they condemn themselves!"

Pope slams Canadian Catholic politicians
for ignoring values of their religion
- In September, the Catholic bishops of the province of Ontario,
Canada, made their ad limina visits to Rome. As these visits
take place once every five years, this was the first time the
Ontario bishops had been addressed as a group by Pope Benedict
XVI.
In his remarks ( http://www.vatican.va/holy_father/benedict_xvi/speeches/2006/september/documents/
- hf_ben-xvi_spe_20060908_canada-ontario_en.html
) the Pope said that Canada had suffered much because of the
weakness of Canadian politicians in standing up for the principles
of their professed faith.
Benedict XVI said "In the name of tolerance, your country
has had to endure the folly of the redefinition of spouse, and
in the name of "freedom of choice" it is confronted
with the daily destruction on unborn children."
The Pope roundly castigated politicians who call themselves "Catholic"
and yet ignore the values of their religion.
"False dichotomies," he said, "are not unknown
within the Christian community itself. They are particularly
damaging when Christian civic leaders sacrifice the unity of
faith and sanction the disintegration of reason and the principles
of natural ethics, by yielding to ephemeral social trends and
the spurious demands of opinion polls. Democracy succeeds only
to the extent that it is based on truth and a correct understanding
of the human person. Catholic involvement in political life cannot
compromise on this principle."

World Youth Day Rallies - What
really goes on?
In a newly-released video, Catholic Family News Editor John
Vennari reports on what he saw and heard when he attended the
2002 World Youth Day. Mr. Vennari says "I looked for something,
anything, that Popes Pius IX, Leo XIII, St. Pius X, Benedict
XV, Pius XI and XII would recognize as Catholic. I saw nothing
they would approve and plenty they would condemn."
We highly recommend this unique two-DVD set. But be warned! It
contains shocking never-before-released footage of World Youth
Day, which demonstrates the event to be pervaded not by Catholicism,
but by the rocknroll, pep-rally
pop culture.
What you see will alarm and anger you. But Mr. Vennari does more
than shock his audience. He explains the true Catholic teaching
and practice that World Youth Day defies. For this reason, this
lecture has been hailed as outstanding Catholic catechetical
instruction.
More details may be found on http://www.cfnews.org/WYD-DVD.htm.
As you watch this outrageous footage, you will say to yourself
over and over again, "Is this supposed to be Catholic? How
could self-respecting Catholic parents send their sons and daughters
to anything so scandalous?"
