The Parliament

The Parliament of the  World's  Religions...plenaries  by politicians and technocrats made  it  clear that the organizers had a preprogrammed agenda "to create liberal-humanistic  unity." .."[F]acilitators" were primed  to  ensure that nothing ...would  stop  the parliament  from  realizing  its unstated goal, "a mystical experience of  pluralism... Traditional Christianity and Christian missions were implicitly and sometimes explicitly  criticized by the parliament's 6,000  delegates  from 150  world religions... A larger world  religious  parliament  is planned in New Dehli, India, next February.
"See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as  wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil." Ephesians 5:15 (National  &  International Religion  Report, 9.20.93 - The  Berean  Call, editor Dave Hunt,  P.O.Box  7019  Bend, Oregon 97708 February 1994 )

Ten Million Roman Catholic Pilgrims Expected

"Hard-pressed tourism officials hope a promised ruling by Pope John Paul II will release a flood of Roman Catholic pilgrims to Israel - perhaps as many as 10 million over the next four years.. Vatican officials recently told him that, for the 2000th anniversary of Jesus' birth, the pontiff is planning a statement saying that pilgrimages to the Holy Land take precedence over visits to the Vatican in Rome. Shai anticipates that the ruling will allow pilgrims to start observing the bimillennium with pilgrimages in 1997, rather than waiting until the year 2000, and granting special indulgences - amounting to forgiveness for sin - to those who make the journey.. The papal decree would provide a miracle cure for Israeli tourism.. Catholic sources doubt that the country can handle such a major influx.. shortage of hotel rooms.. While political problems still exist in the Holy Land.. pilgrims won't come." (The Jerusalem Report, December 12, 1996 p.6)

The World Council of Churches

The World Council of Churches, established in 1948 in Moscow with the sanction of the Vatican, inititated and led the ecumenical movement and stands for what they term `pluralism' or many different views and gospels - even including those who have rejected it all. The International Council of Christian Churches Congress met in Santiago, Chile on February 12-22, 1997. They have 602 Protestant denominations around the world with over 200,000 000 (200 million) members.

Universal Council

The year 2000 is a special opportunity for Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant, and Pentecostal Christians to begin a process leading to a universal council. The ultimate goal of such a council is a common confession of faith and the celebration of the Eucharist together." (Gen. Secretary of  the World Alliance of Reformed Churches, quoted in  `What  in the World!', Aug 1996)
