Since writing the above, James Kieferdorf discovered two Armstrong
offshoots, both radical deniers of the Trinity. on the Christian
Channel (Toronto Canadat He graciously called them and told them
to send documentation. It was agreed and he sent it. The next
thing he knew, the WC(i offshoots, denying the Trinity, had doubled
on the Christian Channel (from two to four). He next contacted
Dr. Brian C. Stillers office (he is president of Tyndale
Seminary and also chairs the Christian Channels Council
of Reference). His office also agreed to receive documentation
and he started faxing it. About half-way through he received
a telephone call telling him to stop immediately. Apparently
they werent interested. That was in mid-October and, as
far as I know, they have yet to act on the anti-Trinitarianism
spewing over the-airways from their evangelical stations!
CC describes its 'Mission' statement as being to 'offer Canadians
the best Christian content from around the world.' And in its
'Statement of Faith' is included, 'There is one God, eternally
existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God
the Holy Spirit.' Those are both very fine! And its 'Channel
Facts,' where these statements are made, insists that 'all programming
is subject to the Statement of Faith.' Which, again, is great
in theory!
So why have four anti-Trinitarian cults on its program lineup?
You tell me. The only answer I have is the one I gave Brother
Kieferdorf: 'The cults checks are clearing the bank!'!
recognize that such a charge is serious and judgmental, but why
else run programs on a Christian station offering 'the best Christian
content from around the world'and claiming to demand faithlessness
to the doctrine
Central Arkansas. It is apparently going for the Guinness World
Book of Records for the number of cults on an evangelical station,
heretical oruaniz.atioas featured on its lineup: Ronald L. Dart.
Ernes: & Frank (associated with the Dawn Bible Students Association,
a Jehovahs Witness offshoot), The Sacred Name Broadcaster
with Jacob Meyer; Politics and Religion with Irvin Baxter; Yahweh
Ministries with Jerry Kirk; Good News of the Kingdom with Gary
Miller: and Advice Line with Roy Masters. All of these groups
deny the Trinity and Masters is on record: "One of the biggest
curses in Christendom is the FALSE idea that Jesus is God were
not supposed lo worship Christ." He said again. "I
have trouble accepting the expression that Jesus is God,
since for me that means Jesus is the Father, the
source of all wisdom." That is a total misunderstanding
of Bible teaching (while Jesus is one with the Father, He is
not the Father)!
Kieferdorf sent 34 pages of documentation to KAAY in September,
When there had been no answer by November 15, he called and talked
to John Scuderi, the station manager. The latter said he
and his wife had gone over the papers and couldnt
see much difference in those teachings and the doctrines of the
Christian faith! Yet there was in the documentation denials of
the Trinity; the teaching of annihilation; denial of the new
birth (one said people claiming to be born again
was like a caterpillar claiming to be a butterfly "
caterpillars can become butterflies, but caterpillars are not
butterflies"); denial of the Deity of Jesus Christ (one
wrote an article defending Arianism, a teaching condemned the
Council of Nicea in 325 and by çhristans throughout history):
denial of Hell: keeping the comment for salvation:
Jesus is merely a 'creation' of the Father: baptism is regeneration
and other false ideas about baptism Not all of these errors are
taught by all of the above, but all of the above. are an example.
denying the Trinity. One thing is obvious, Scuderi and his wife
are ignorant theologians if they cannot detect error here!
(thee again we suggest listeners protest strongly. (KAAY is a
poweerlul 50,000-watt station and may he heard in 12 States during
the night hours! Talk about a powerful dissemination of error
and falsehood!) And we urge believers not to give a dime to KAAY
as long as it features such heretics and heresy in its daily
lineup.
Along the same line. Torn Boicourt is listed as 'Missions Director'
for the Eastside Family~, Church in Troy (IL), the latter being
one of the many heretical groups denying the Deity of Christ,
the Trinity, the immortality of the soul and the doctrine of
Hell, among other things. (Pastor Jeremy Drake verified these
teachings to James Kieferdorf in a telephone interview.) Strangely,
on the Eastside Family Church web which lists Boicourt as its
Mission Director, the statement is added: "He also is employed
by Joyce Meyer Ministry in St. Louis, MO." Why a woman preacher/televangelist
would hire a cult member is beyond our understanding.
By the way, I appreciate the heroic work Kieferdorf is doig in
this area. So far he has been able to get 38 Armstrongite programs
canceled from Christian stations. May his blessings increase.
