UNITY at the End of the Age -

Hearing The Word of the New Prophets

The cry of the hour is unity. This proclamation comes from all who claim Christ as their own. From Roman Catholics to Mormons to certain Mainline Protestant Churches everyone wants to unite for the cause of Christ.

Mormons want unity also. Books are written to close the gap of differences such as How Wide the divide by a evangelical and Mormon scholar. They participate in PK events and distribute their materials in their church. The lines are vanishing before our very eyes.

On TBN 3/8/99 a Trinitarian Bishop Clarence McClendon and Oneness Pentecostal Bishop Noel Jones discussed how to have unity together in their ministries and to learn from each others differences . They discussed how they can restate the Godhead in better terms.

Some claim we need to tear down the walls that divide us . Now certainly if they divide us from pursuing the commands of Christ and divide from his doctrine I can agree to a certain extent. But there may be a reason why a wall was erected in the first place. It was to keep out that which is not conducive to Christian teaching and practice. Israel had a wall around the city to protect the inhabitants and they had a watch man on the wall to sound the alarm when an enemy approached. The early church quickly built spiritual walls lest the first cults joined them with their distorted teachings on Christ. So walls are not always bad things, but a buffer zone to maintain the truth.

One of the most concerning areas is with the prophet and apostle movement within the Church itself.

Peter Wagner who promotes spiritual warfare against spirits as essential element to evangelism wants unity and to do away with denominations. A national symposium on the post denominational Church was convened by Dr. Peter Wagner at Fuller theological in may of 1996. Bill Hamon one of the leaders of the prophetic movement said of this event, "This was a historical occasion in God’s annals of Church history. It was prophetically orchestrated by the holy Spirit to fulfill Gods progressive purposes of bringing His church to its ultimate destiny…the consensus of the panelist was that there are still apostles and prophets in the church, and there is an emerging Apostolic movement that will revolutionize the 21st century church". (Prophetic Destiny and the Apostolic reformation by Dr. Bill Hamon p.18)

And No wonder Hamon would be thrilled by all this, Wagner has been saying for years "Many of your churches also are now becoming involved in the prophetic movement. And I’m talking about serious prophecy; I’m talking about Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Isaiah kind of prophecy, where God speaks to the Churches." Hamon trains people to be prophets and has said before the 1980’s are over, God will have raised up and called forth thousands of prophets." (prophets and personal prophecy, Bill Hamon p.28) So he has a school for those who want to be prophets. Now you can enroll to be a prophet. But if we look at the bible, many, if not all who were called to this position fought against it.

Well I hope everyone has more room between the binders of their bibles for the new fresh word that is coming forth. I guarantee they will have a whole lot more to say than what God has already spoken. Lets ignore Mt.24:11, Move over Mormon prophets the bible is not finished yet!

A release from The Wagner Institute for Practical Ministry ... from the National School of the Prophets: Mobilizing the Prophetic Office for the Next Century January 28 -30, 1999 Paul Cain - New Speaker!
This memorandum is to share with you that the Lord is assembling the different streams of the prophetic movement for the National School of the Prophets! We have just been informed that Paul Cain, who is internationally renowned and respected, will be joining us for the key gathering. With Paul's presence and word from the Lord, this meeting will blend the generations of the prophetic movement. There is a growing expectancy for a move of the Lord with a kairos word to take the Church into the next century. ...
We must hear the word of the Lord that will prepare the way into the next century. The future generations depend on this word. The prophetic streams across this nation are uniting to sound a clear trumpet in this nation. This uniting of the streams will form the bedrock of revelation for the River of Revival! Prophets help to prepare the way for the apostles to establish the Lord's church. Join us for this historic three days at the new World Prayer Center in Colorado Springs, CO.

So the word we need to hear are from modern prophets not the word delivered by the original apostles/ prophets but new prophets, new words.
Speakers include: C. Peter Wagner, Paul Cain, Chuck Pierce, Cindy Jacobs, Bill Hamon, Dutch Sheets, Rick Joyner, Kingsley Fletcher, Mike Bickle, Jim Laffoon, Barbara Wentroble and Ted Haggard. http://www.letusreason.org/Pent32.htm

DO YOU WANT TO BE AN APOSTLE?

A new reformation is now underway, implementing Peter Wagner’s model of apostolic reformation. Wagner has given birth to his own group of leaders and apostolic churches. This movement crosses over all denominational boundaries. Apostolic networks are forming and are supposedly the fastest-growing segment of Christianity worldwide. With Dutch Sheets, Cindy Jacobs, Mike Bickle, Tommy Tenney and many others involved and promoting Wagner’s concepts of the new Church model of the 21st century they have the ear of the church.

According to Wagner, the ICA is not designed as a functional accountability structure. It is, however, a vehicle which hopefully will spin off a significant number of smaller accountability groups. Interesting that they promote a new government to control the church but do not have this in order yet. In Scripture we see the apostles in their missionary working together in two’s and considered elders of the church along with the other elders. What we need to ask is if Wagner’s Apostles are supposed to hold pastors and other leaders accountable, whom are these new apostles accountable to? Especially if they are forming a government that is to have a great amount of control on the church.http://www.letusreason.org/Latrain20.htm
